This model isn't in the Wii U version, but was added to the Switch version for some odd reason, probably as a planned addition to N64 Toad's Turnpike. It doesn't exist in aml, but when added into it, the model does load properly, but doesn't have its original functions. It only has a single animation for the key on the back of it. The eyes are now 3D, the wheel animation doesn't exist, and it doesn't have the lights coming out of its eyes. This model was actually ported directly from the latter game, but with a few slight differences. MapObj/BombCar has an unused Bob-omb Car model from the track Mushroom Bridge and Mushroom City from Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, along with Moonview Highway from Mario Kart Wii. It was removed for unknown reasons, though the best guess is it may have simply been too hard. There are no other references for this difficulty, so it may have been cut early in development. In most of the AI tables ( RaceCommon/AI), there's some AI settings for an Expert difficulty. The item box is tiny, having the scale of 0.1 for X,Y,Z.ĭS Shroom Ridge's item box is hidden under the ground, next to the glider ramp, under the grass section. GCN Baby Park's item box is hidden inside of a pipe, which is a structure of the ferris wheel. Mute City's coin is hidden inside of a building, on the last turn of the course.īig Blue's coin is hidden inside of an island, next to the start of the course. The same goes for GCN Baby Park & DS Shroom Ridge, but with item boxes. It is loaded because it requires it or else the game crashes. This concept later resurfaced in Mario Kart Tour as the R and R/T variants of tracks.Ĭourses that do not have coins ( Mute City & Big Blue) actually have a coin loaded in, but hidden in places you can't normally see. In aml there are six references to "Gyakusou", which means "Reverse Run" in Japanese. There seems to have once been plans for a racing mode where the racers go around the track backwards. (Source: Original TCRF research) Removed Reverse Mode As the release of Wave 2 matched perfectly the content found in the datamine, these are very likely related to the courses mentioned in the datamined banner above.

A leak was found after the release of Wave 1 of the Booster Course Pass, which contains most of the tracks labeled with appropriate "retro" consoles, and another leak after the release of Wave 2, which contains prefetch files for soundtracks of courses not present in the game.
